1.  Why do you call yourselves The Wagical Place? top

The name The Wagical Place came from Combining the "W" in Wizard with "agical" from Magical. Alternately ,you can consider it an upside down "M" from Magical

3.  Are you guys Magic the Gathering Players?

The answer is yes and no.  We learned of Magic: The Gathering though a television advertisement on the Sci-Fi channel.  The ad was for Portal.  We enjoy playing Portal.  While we have read the rules of Magic and bought several books to learn the game, Patrizia finds them to complicated.  Since Dan has no one else to play the game with, he keeps forgetting the rules.  Thus, we only play Portal. top

4.  Do you accept credit cards?

Yes and no.  We do not accept Credit Card payments directly, but can accept payments through Paypal.com.  Paypal.com is the same service that allows many auction sellers, at eBay.com (now owned by eBay) and other auction sites, to be able to accept credit cards.  The service is absolutely FREE for personal accounts and if you are not already signed up with them , for a limited time, they will pay you $5 bonus to do so. The $5 sign up bonus can be applied to your order.  The service is currently available only to US residents and International customers from 26 countries.  Details on how to pay with this service are now included in the invoices we sent. top

5.  Are your cards really in Mint (MT) or (NM) condition?

All the cards on listed on our web site we bought ourselves.  We usually buy Magic cards by the case or box from a wholesaler distributor.  In addition, we used to buy enough Ultra-Pro sleeves for all cards. Because of the large volume of cards we buy we no longer store Commons and Uncommons in sleeves.  After the boosters are opened, all Foils and Rares are put in sleeves and stored that way.  Since we don't play Magic, the cards are in the same condition as when we first opened them (other then maybe finger prints added while putting them in sleeves). top

6.  How do I know you won't rip me off?

Well, as any business knows a happy customer is a good costumer.  If I went around ripping people off we would not be in business very long.  If it would make you more comfortable we can provide addition details to help settle your fears such as a list of references. top

7.  How do you determine shipping costs?

We charge, as much as possible, exact shipping costs. There is no handling fee. You can estimate your shipping costs by clicking here. Be sure to look at the examples provided below the shipping table. Shipping costs include postage, sleeves, top loaders, and bubble mailers. The sleeves and top loaders are optional. Include at note in the "note:" box of the shopping cart if you do not want these. top

8.  What is the ordering process?

See our Ordering Rules page. top

9.  How do you determine the cards costs?

By market conditions.  We look at other sites trying to sell single cards, use trade magazines, or simply go on how well a particular card has sold in the past.  In general, the sell prices are firm.  However, if you think we are way off, send us the link of a competitor that supports your position and I will consider lowering the price.  We don't promise we will, but it doesn't hurt you to try.  In general, we think our prices are better then most places that advertise in Duelist magazine.  Yes, we read Duelist (when it was still available). top

10.  Are you buying magic cards from anyone?

We are always interested in Factory Sealed boxes from any edition.  If you have any unopened boxes make us an offer.  If the price is reasonable (wholesale) we may buy.  You, however, are expected to send us the boxes before we make payment.  If you feel more comfortable shipping COD that is Ok also.  We will give you back your shipping expenses.  Before we buy we must discuss terms and agree on them. top

11.  Do you accept Email orders?

We used to, but in January 2002 we switched to a shopping cart system. The shopping cart is not compatible with the old Email system. If we were to accept Email orders, the cards someone ordered would not be removed from the shopping cart, thus allowing others to order cards we no longer have.top

12.  How often do you restock?

We used to restock once a month for any Type II edition for which we were sold out of a lot of Rares. However, our site eventually became so popular that we had to slow things down (we know it sounds weird). Therefore, we now only stock an Edition when it is released, but in very large quantities (96 booster boxes for small 145 card expansion editions and 144 booster boxes for large 350 card editions) and then never again. It was that or close the business. We needed to allow time to spend with our son.top

13.  I placed an order and did not receive a confirmation Email. What happened?

When you complete an order with our shopping cart our web server automatically sends out a confirmation Email to you and an order to us. There are several reasons you might not receive one. The MOST likely causes is that you entered an invalid Email address or misspell Email address into our shopping cart. If you did, we have no way of contacting you. Please by very careful about typing in your Email address into the shopping cart. Other reasons that this could happen is that our Internet Service Provider's (ISP's) Email server is down or your ISP's Email server is down. Usually Email will arrive after the Email servers are fixed.top

14.  I placed an order, received a confirmation Email, but did not receive an INVOICE. What happened?

After receiving a confirmation Email, you should receive an INVOICE within 24 hours (usually only several hours depending on the time of day you placed your order) excluding weekends (usually, but not always, we do take care of orders on weekends, but sometimes we do have other plans for a weekend and may not be around). The MOST likely cause for not receiving an INVOICE is  that you have SPAM filters in place that think our INVOICEs are SPAM. This is especially true for hotmail and MSN customers (don't you just love Microsoft) and possibly others. Depending on your Email filter settings our INVOICEs are placed in your trash bin (or equivalent) or deleted. We have contacted Microsoft to try and find out why their SPAM filters think our INVOICEs are SPAM and they more or less told us to get lost, since we are not a hotmail or MSN customers (again, don't you just love Microsoft). Anyway, if you do NOT receive an INVOICE within 24 hours, but did receive a confirmation Email, please contact us.top

15.  I had some cards in my shopping cart, but the quantity I ordered is zero or less then what I ordered? What happened?

The way our shopping cart works is that cards are not considered yours until you complete you order. Once you complete your order the cards are removed from our web site so no one else can buy them. However, if we have a limited number of a hot card, several people can have the same cards in their shopping carts at the same time. Who ever completes their order first gets them. For example, lets say we have four copies of HOT MAGIC SINGLES CARD and three people have them in their shopping carts. One person is planning on ordering four and the others plan of order two each of HOT MAGIC SINGLES CARD.  If the person who wanted four completes his order first, the other two will still see the card listed in their shopping cart, but the quantity they have is reduced to zero. If one of the customers who wanted two copies completes their order first, the person who wanted four will now only see two in his shopping cart while the other one who wanted two will still see two. Which ever one of the remaining two customers completes his order first will get the final two HOT MAGIC SINGLES CARD.top

16.  I heard you have a BANNED list. Why and what causes you to place someone there?

When we received an order, everything is taken care of before we send an INVOICE. This means pulling the cards from inventory, comparing the pulled cards to the order and the INVOICE, packaging them for shipping, sending the INVOICE and then awaiting payment. The cards ordered are no longer for sale and the customer has two weeks to pay. For us this means work. Our site tries to offers some of the lowest priced magic singles on the Internet. In order to do so we have to keep overhead costs as low as possible. This basically mean that we do not want to deal with people who waste our time (cost us money). While we do accept cancelations, provided the customer has not wasted to much of our time, it should be done in a timely manner. The following behaviors are likely to get you on our banned list. (1) Placing an order and never canceling it. We keep the cards off the market for  at least two weeks while we await payment. When the two weeks expires, we sent a message to the customer that we have not received payment and that if the customer wishes to cancel the order to let us know. If we do not receive a response within 48 hours, the order is canceled and the customer is placed on our banned list. (2) Same as "(1)" but the customer placed a huge order (read expensive) and kept us from selling them to others for an excessive amount of time. (3) The order the customer placed was large in terms of quantity of cards and took us a lot of time to get ready for shipping (we spend an hour worth of work and did not get paid and it will take another hour to sort cards back into inventory), therefore causing us much work for no gain. (4) excessive numbers of cancelations. We have two choices, eliminate those that cost us money for no gain (waste our time) or pass the additional costs onto customers in terms of higher card prices. We prefer to pass savings to customers and get rid of those who cause us unnecessary costs. Bottom line, do not order unless you intend to pay.top

17.  How long until I receive my cards after you ship?

Cards are not shipped until payment is received (for personal check payments, we reserve to right to hold shipping until the check clears). This can happen the same day an order was placed if payment was with Paypal. Unless requested otherwise, orders ship via US Postal Service. We send a notice when payment is received and when an order ships. Sometimes this is a single Email if both happen on the same day. Once shipped, the order is out of our hands and it will take however long it takes the Postal Service to deliver. For International customers this also depends on how efficient the Postal Service in their country is. Usually delivery nationally is about a week or two depending on where one lives with respect to Maryland. During times of high mail volume (Thanksgiving until New Year or Tax time) things can and do take longer. top

18.  Can I drop cards from my order?

Simple answer, no. Longer answer. Everything at The Wagical Place is automated, except pulling cards and getting them ready to ship. Our invoicing program allows cancelling orders as a whole, adding to an order, but not dropping individuals cards. To drop individual cards would require a lot of manual intervention and can cause our inventory to no longer reflect actual inventory and is thus not allowed. top

19.  Do you have the lowest priced or cheapest magic singles (Magic: The Gathering Singles) on the Internet?

Simple answer, no. We can name probably 10 sites that are or have the cheapest prices on the Internet. How can they ALL be the cheapest? They cannot and yet our prices are more often then not, better. They are being less then truthful. Is a shop that is less then truthful, a shop you want to deal with? All we will say is that we offer SOME of the best (cheapest) prices on the Internet. We are one of the sites other sites watch. This means when we drop prices, others will watch, and change their prices to beat ours. But you will get great prices when you shop with us along with integrity. You will never hear us make the claim that we have the cheapest magic singles prices on the Internet (we simply cannot know this because we may not be aware of all other sites out there). What can say is that we have is great prices and service. Try us and find out for yourself. top
